Benzino charged with drug possession and facing up to 15 years behind bars

Ex-Love & Hip Hop star Benzino was arrested last January for possession of THC oil gummies (22 grams), felony possession of 6 MDMA pills and misdemeanor possession of less than an ounce of weed.

According to TMZ, police came to his ATL apartment with a search warrant and found the drugs on his kitchen counter and drawers. He was arrested on the spot and posted bail of $12k. Benzino’s legal team argued about police performing an illegal search, but a judge ruled otherwise.

On Wednesday, Benzino will learn when the case will be headed for trial which could be as early as next month if he doesn’t cop a plea.

If Benzino is convicted, he could be facing up 15 years in jail for the crimes.
